Featured Rider: Zachary

Culinary student from Maine, Zachary, past briefly through Bryson City on his way to San Luis Obispo, California.  We received a call from Diane at the bike shop (Bryson City Bicycles) an hour before dark letting us know Zachary had stopped in for repairs and was in need of a place to stay.

He is meandering westward and plans to work in a friends restaurant when he arrives.  Zachary proves that touring is an individual endeavor and that just about any bike you like to ride can become a touring bike.  Zachary carries his load in a backpack (he’s 23, he can do that) and seat post rack and chose to ride his mountain bike across the country so he could check out a few of the trails along the way.  My wife and I enjoyed hosting Zachary for a night and wish him all the best on his journey.
