One Pan Wonders

I recently purchased Teresa “Dicentra” Black’s cookbook, One Pan Wonders ~ Backcountry Cooking at its Finest.  Ninety pages of quick and easy recipes you can whip up in 15 minutes or less and in one pan (or no pan at all).  I’m always looking for tastey calorie packed recipes to prepare in my Snow Peak 700 that only require boiling water; with over 100 recipes, this book has quite a few.  Others require a small skillet and some are wrap-type meals requiring no pan at all.  Most of the dishes featured use common readily available ingredients.  I’ve only tried one so far, ‘Hoh Cakes’ made with polenta and Bisquick.   Delicious.  I’m looking forward to trying some of the beverage recipes, such as, Maple Cinnamon Latte and the Peppermint Mocha Mix.  The book cost about $14.00.

    i have thought of buying a dehydrator….
dry my own fruit and veggies to take….
be a lot cheaper to dry your own food than buying it at the food co-op…

    Thanks for the lovely review!!

Arlen – the book does NOT require a dehydrator at all.
