Cherokee Riders ~ and they’re off!!!
Back in April I had the great honor of riding along on a training ride with a team of Cherokee riders who were preparing to join a larger contingent of Cherokee riders from Oklahoma. They will be retracing the Trail of Tears on a thousand-mile journey from their ancestral homelands (starting in Georgia) to Oklahoma. This is in remembrance of the removal at gunpoint of thousands of Cherokee during the winter months of 1838 and 1839.
Follow along with this epic journey of 22 days of riding spanning a distance of over a thousand miles.

I wish them all the best, Jack
